Miconazole Resistant Yeast Infections

By Jason King

More women are now creating miconazole resistant Candida infections with their OTC yeast creams. They continually apply the cream to their vaginal infection even if it isn't working, or they don't even need the cream in the first place. It doesn't take that long at all for the fungus to become resistant.

The biggest problem with this approach to curing your infection is, the itching in your vagina is just a symptom of the infection. All you're doing with the cream is applying it to just one symptom of the fungal overgrowth in your body. You're not treating the infection, and the cream will never get to the actual infection.

The Candida yeast lives in your body all the time, and it has been there for years. You haven't just been infected with it, your body has just lost control of it. Up until you started suffering from your symptoms your body was keeping the yeast under control which was making it harmless. Now it has mutated into a fungus because your body's natural defenses are not doing their job properly.

Because your body's natural defenses have been compromised they yeast will continue to grow in numbers and mutate into a fungus. You have the symptoms in your vagina because the fungus loves to live in a warm, moist place, so this is where you experience the itching.

These symptoms are not an indication that the infection is just in your vagina, and this is why a lot of women are unable to cure their infection with an anti fungal cream that contains miconazole. Miconazole is good at killing fungus, but you need to stop the yeast in your body mutating.

The yeast is not the problem when it comes to infections as this organism lives in all of us all of the time. The infections start when your body can't keep the yeast under control anymore, and then it starts mutating into an aggressive fungus that starts feeding on. Your body has to regain control of the bacterial environment in your body, and until it does you will always have fungus growing in your intestines and vagina. The cream you're using is just creating a stronger strain of fungus that is going to be more difficult to eliminate from your body. - 29929
